A 3 goal comeback in the final 7 minutes was only the second most dramatic thing about this FA Cup game

A pub fire blazed throughout the game at Sixfields yesterday.

NORTHAMPTON TOWN PRODUCED a remarkable comeback to beat Northwich Victoria in the second round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Starting in the 83rd minute, the home side scored three goals in four minutes to shatter the non-league club’s dreams of a place in the third round.

Jimmy Ball and Richard Bennett had scored either side of the break to give the visitors the lead at Sixfields before the home side pulled of their unlikely escape act.

However, the drama on the field was overshadowed by a fire at a pub near the stadium that started just before the game and continued to burn throughout.

40 firefighters battled the blaze just a few hundred yards from the stadium. Thankfully, nobody was hurt.

Many fans at the game took to social media to show images of the fire:

Suarez and Aguero would have scored for Manchester United – Van Gaal

Jamie Vardy won’t be breaking Irishman Jimmy Dunne’s record anytime soon as run ends
